Background
Nansana Children’s Centre was established on 5th Jan 2011, under registration number WBO/1238/11 the pioneers are youths, parents, and Children living in Nansana Division, Nansana Municipality, Wakiso District.
Aim
- To support orphans and vulnerable Children, Youths and community people both with and without HIV/AIDS and other related diseases.
- To Counsel, Educate, Sensitize and Empower children, women on factors affecting them such as HIV/AIDS, Family health. unwanted pregnancy, social and family matters
Activities
- Voluntary Counseling
- Schools and community out reaches
- Distribution of Information Education Materials
- Vocational skills
- Home visits
- Dance and drama
- Involve the children activity.
Volunteer tasks
- Counseling of clients (Orphans and other Vulnerable Children)
- Health Education and sensitization for the community
- Working with other counselors in dealing with HIV/AIDS clients
- Out-reach services
- Attending meetings
- Compiling reports
- Research
- Updating social platforms like facebook and web page
Volunteer qualities
- Interest and motivation to work with children
- Innovative and flexible
- A Volunteer with counseling skills
- The volunteer should be kind and ready to listen, emotionally strong and to give advice if necessary
- A volunteer with fundraising skills is an added advantage
Working hours
5 days a week from 8:00am-5:00pm
Transport
It takes about 2,000 Uganda shillings to and from Uganda Pioneers Offices

Nansana Children’s Center is a new project on our list. They are indeed promising to volunteer with and located in Nansana Division, Nansana Municipality. The founders are passionate about vulnerable groups and are committed to empowering them through various interventions.
Communication
All Counselors are able to communicate in English but some clients need translators (already in place)

Die/der Freiwillige lebt je nach Wunsch in einer Gastfamilie oder im Freiwilligenhaus unserer Partnerorganisation UPA.
